I headed down to the card shack tonight to find everything in disarray, the poker board was off, the auto-shufflers were off, strange light fixtures set up in the corners and there were generators set up outside the front and back doors. Some utility work was scheduled for a few hours and left the casino with out power. Then at 11PM there was an announcement that the lights would be going out.
I did not last too much longer. It was tough to see the cards, the bad players seemed to be playing more cautiously and the game grinded to a halt. The scene was surreal and I didnt feel as safe was I wanted to be, so I racked up and left. I think a small card room like O11 could pull this off but the devil only knows what would happen at Commerce or Vegas: Here is a shot I took with my phone. It depicts how dark it was. Notice the security guards immediately in front of the cage. ![]() |

what game were you playing? I was there all day and when they said the lights were going out i racked up from 5-5nl and left.
even with the extra security I didn't feel safe playing in the dark. |

![]() Any decent sized club has big enough generators to keep a normal level of lighting (they might turn of the TVs, etc). |

The obvious solution here is to just keep playing until the natural light starts to creep inside in only 6 hours or so.
