Re: Why Doesn\'t \"remember me on each visit \" Work?
[ QUOTE ]
I go back & forth from my laptop to my home computer. If I log in on one, I get logged out on the other. [/ QUOTE ] I wonder if that is the culprit. The problem has always seemed random to me, but I do log on at work sometimes in addition to my home computer. Possibly the bulletin board software is set up so that if you switch machines you will no longer be automatically logged in (and the "remember me" box is unchecked). If so, I wonder if there is a software option to turn this feature off? As is, it is a pain-in-the butt, albeit a minor one. So to check out this hypothesis: Do any of you that have this problem completely restrict your logins to one machine? Also anyone with access to a laptop and a desktop while reading this, could you test the theory? |

Re: Why Doesn\'t \"remember me on each visit \" Work?
dfan,
I think it's been mentioned before that this is a browser-specific issue, probably security related. Users of Firefox reported that they would be logged off of on PC upon logging onto another. Users of IE reported no issues being logged onto two at the same time. Version could be a factor too. |

Re: Why Doesn\'t \"remember me on each visit \" Work?
I use ff at home and work, and both stay logged in until the random logout happens, at which time both are logged out. This happened on IE as well when I used it, which was around the time period before ff 1.0 was released.

If you change your background settings it will be very easy to know if you are logged on or not before you go clicking anything.

It happens approximately every 2-3 weeks. No discernible pattern, as far as I can tell. |

Re: Why Doesn\'t \"remember me on each visit \" Work?
I get logged out every week or two and it's a pain because when I log back in, every thread gets marked as read.

I don't expect this to get fixed in the current version of 2+2 (but it would be a nice-to-have). However, I do hope they consider this to be a defect, and not a "feature" |
