Re: Movies You Like Nobody Believes Are Good
"Road House" with Patrick Swayze. I love this movie, it's so bad it's good. Lines like:
"Pain don't hurt" "You're too stupid to have a good time" "I want you to be nice until it's time to not be nice" "Nobody ever wins a fight" "It's my way or the highway" Also features Jeff Healey fronting a bar band and Healey has some lines as well. To be fair, there are others that like this movie but nevertheless, when I think of the expression "guilty pleasures" this is THE movie that I think of. On review began with these words: One of those movies that helped usher out the era of action films that had plots that made any sense ... LMAO |

Re: Movies You Like Nobody Believes Are Good
I know I really shouldn't be saying this as I picked Rocky IV, but a movie like Road House is a good movie the main reason people think it sucks is because it's dated. In the OP they were referring to movies that people see the trailers for and than decide they will never see this movie, but when they see it is actually decent.

Re: Movies You Like Nobody Believes Are Good
i recommend Wet Hot American Summer to anyone who will listen. a bit of trivia about the movie:
"The owners of Camp Towanda (where the movie was filmed) were told that this was going to be a family comedy. They were mortified when they saw the final cut of the film." another good one is Pumpkin - Christina Ricci befriending a retard. |

Re: Movies You Like Nobody Believes Are Good
- Two-Lane Blacktop with James Taylor in the lead role. There's literally no dialogue for like the first 15 minutes as they roar around in their 55 Chevy race car. The audio/video quality stinks (at least on the tape I have). But I dig the existentialist vibe.
- Falling from Grace with John Mellencamp in the lead. I dunno, I like Cougar and thought he did pretty well in this. I'm also a small-town guy at heart and enjoyed their antics in this one. - Revenge. Somebody mentioned this above. I still have a thing for Madeline Stowe due to this flick. |

Re: Movies You Like Nobody Believes Are Good
One movie that I enjoy watching every now and then is Almost Heroes. It is a comedy starring Chris Farley and Matthew Perry about two people on a mission to beat Lewis and Clark to the Pacific Ocean in the early 1800s. Many people hate it, but I don't think it's half bad.
Another one is The Librarian: Quest for the Spear. It was a made for TV movie on TNT starring Noah Wyle (ER), and I caught the Tuesday midafternoon rerun. It was pretty compelling at the time, and I rather liked it. |

Re: Movies You Like Nobody Believes Are Good
don't know how many people have seen navy seals, but most of my friends just assume it's awful and I will constantly make time to watch it if I see it on tv.
