Anyone else think like this?
Quoting Roadstar from a different thread but I didn't want to hijack:
[ QUOTE ] 2) I have to assume he is not a great player posting in the CO in a 6m game. Therefore, I lean towards increasing my range for him to include two pair hands you beat 82, A2 or TPGK. [/ QUOTE ] Is this a common assumption when you see a new face do this in a small stakes game? When I sit down right now at any 6m table I post from any position if I see several unfamiliar faces at the table to promote a fishy image. |

Re: Anyone else think like this?
It doesn't always work...I'd say the increased value of posting out of position is not worth the amount you spend doing it. Few people will notice. Few people will take note. Few people will act on that note. It's a good idea, but there's far too little value in it unless you know that people at the table are going to use that image of you for a long time, it will only last the first rotation or two...

Re: Anyone else think like this?
I don't put too much stock in it at first sight. If you post UTG and check/call a raise I'll put more into it.

Re: Anyone else think like this?
I dont think a single act like that should have any effect on the overall info that you gain from your opponent over the course of the game...
