Default Stars & Stripes $100 Rebuy - AK facing raise, min re-raise

Live tournament - 100 buy in, with one rebuy

Bubble party just ended at 45, 28 left.

Blinds 1k - 2k w/ 200 ante's

My stack is 18k

Ah Kc in the SB

Folded to Early MP who pushes his stack of 8k before he gets blinded off, next to act min raises to 16k. This is a new table, probably about 4 hands in, no real reads on this fellow, although my instinct tells me he's a good player. I'm thinking his range is any pair 88+, A-Q and A-K.

Find a better spot to build my stack, or all in here?

short stack shoves before the blinds kill his fold equity; range = ATC or maybe top 30%
big stack isolates; range = 55+/A9+/KQ give or take
you have an M of 4, do you shove with AK?

yada yada sorry the pusher had AA blah blah blah...

What's amazing, Cornell, is that you seem to answer three of these exact same questions with an admirable degree of politeness every day. This means that either someone is paying you to do this or you happen to be a hell of a decent human being. Or both, but probably not. Either way, wtf at this thread.

Barry,
It was not that long ago that I wondered about MTT situations that I now find really basic. When I did not know much about the game I came to 2p2 and posed what were definitely beginner questions and great players took the time to teach me the game.

I am just paying it forward.

Cornell,

No, I understand, it's admirable, that's all. You're advice is very solid and sincere. However, "pay it forward," was a terrible, terrible movie.

gl,

Yeah it was Aces, the dealer at least made it exciting and put out 3 hearts giving me the nut flush draw. Went out 28th, 27th paid a few hundred more but I really didn't think much of it. I just wanted to get a healthier stack to play with.
