Default I don\'t do \"chops\"

Fairly standard move in the arsenal of just about every solid player. Good spot for it?

Relevant stacks

Hero 1600
Villain 1000 seems pretty donkish

$27 2 table 25/50 Stars.

Villain limps UTG+1. Hero completes SB with A8o. BB checks.

Why risk your whole stack for half the pot?

What worse hands are calling your push? What better hands fold (esp. if he's a donkey)? Will he really fold a chopping hand?

Cream,

Because maybe I can win all of it.

Ampel,

I don't expect a better hand to fold or a worse hand to call. I was unsure if he'd fold a chopping hand but I thought I'd see for myself.

I felt his betting pattern made it very likely he has a weak ace, maybe just a Q. And its quite the coup if I can get him to fold an ace.

any reason we are dismissing AK and AQ, not saying it will be that often, but people certainly limp these hands especially in EP and if he is a donk this could very well be his idea of getting value with those bets.

I think this is probably a fold pre, though I probably call lol. And as played I think this is just a standard call down.
