Just my two cents, its not relevant or any excuse, but in high school teasing is so much worse and in college it doesnt really occur as much. I hardly see bullying or teasing at all at mine.

The reason I mention the bullying thing is because I'm beginning to open up the possibility a lot more that the shooter might not have been a student.

thats only because colleges are bigger and so you see less of it. In addition, its a lot easier to only interact with people of similar mindset. If you don't have to take classes with a bunch of jock/frat boys, your chances of being picked on are a lot smaller (and no i was never picked on, just my own observation). But this thread isn't the time or place to discuss this, so i'll leave it at that.

Not to get OT, but it happens in college and throughout life. It just gets more covert and less overt, but it still happens.

I would say it could happen in college as bad as in HS, but less likely. HS can be pretty relentless plus in college you can usually just ignore people you don't care for and find different friends. Esp in a place like Blacksburg or Athens.
