[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] The BMW comes with a 230 hp V6 [/ QUOTE ] The BMW has an inline six I believe. Can't go wrong with either car. I prefer the BMW. [/ QUOTE ] Correct on the inline. I'm no car buff though and don't really know what makes that good. Could you elaborate? [/ QUOTE ] Inline 6 vs V6 FWIW, it's hard to feel the difference in handling between a G35x and a 328ix in a regular test drive. Take them both to a suitable track (tight-ish, with some slaloms) and the difference will be obvious. The 3-series is a more well-balanced car in terms of weight distribution, and the loading angles of the suspension make it feel more predictable at the edge of grip. It's hard to describe, but the BMW just feels both nimbler and stabler at its limits. There are also details about the electronic control of their 4WD systems that supposedly make slight differences, but I'm not a good enough driver to detect those. None of this makes much difference in everyday driving. For 99% of people, the G35x is probably a better value. But the BMW is the better car. |

Yeah agreed on silver vs black thing.
Also, what kind of miles do you intend to put on the car? Premium gas adds up, even if you can afford a beamer. Note: this question probably sounds a lot sillier if you're not from L.A. or other places with gigantic commutes and huge traffic jams. |

He is from upstate NY, hence the preference for black. I'd get black interior, too, but that's just me. I hate that mustard yellow interior that BMW has.

Black interior absorbs way too much heat for me, but I'm no fan of yellowish either.

But he is in one of the coldest cities in the continental USA. He wants to absorb heat, lol! Summer lasts like six weeks and gets up to like 75-80 degrees max there. I lived nearby, in Rochester. Cooooooold! One time I read that they have less than 65 days of sun there. Hence my recommendation of black on black. |
