I've tried to study the players from Ho Chi Minh to see if I could find something obvious. Not much luck. A couple of things I have noticed:

1) Mid Levels (L4-L6). They like to value reraise with KK and AA preflop. Say L4, they have 1400 in chips, CO raise to 300, some of them will reraise with KK to 600 or something instead of pushing.

2) If they limp in an obvious push/fold situation they have a monster. L7, 2000 in chips, 6 total players, they limp AA UG.

3) None of them have pictures.

4) They all uses standard preset raise amounts if they raise less than all-in. I've never seen one of them raise 275 L4 or 500-550 L6L7.

5) You can't steal their BB from the SB L5-L8 as much as you would like. So no need to push your trash, even if it is the bubble, because they will call.

6) I have yet to see any of them PWN someone.

7) The don't push the bigstack on the bubble as much as they should.

8) Overall they are pretty decent. I've seen a couple of silly mistakes but not too many.

These sound like the same Vietnamese players that were at Party. The Party ones I played with at low limits also used to make obvious non-push raises with monsters (eg: min-raising/standard-raising with <10BB whereas otherwise they would always push their non-monsters).

have you tried limping or minraising from the SB? i believe the party bots would push if you completed with almost any two cards once heads up, but they wouldnt do it to a min raise. those bots also seemed much more exploitable than these stars bots. how wide are these guys pushing from the SB with like 6-9bb?

I noticed that 3 handed, both myself and one of the bots had big stacks and the other guy had a small stack. Me and the bot had around 25x BB at least. Whenever I limped into him from the SB, he would push his BB. Unfortunately I couldn't pick up a hand

I saw a bunch on party a while back. They were all over the leaderboard. Can't remember all the names but one was yamahapro. I suspected bots aswell. However I also thought that in a country with low wages and living expenses perhaps it is considered very lucrative to play $10 sngs all day long if your good at it.

Based on the volume and push bot play tho I did supect bots.

I can't remember limping from the sb but I'll give it a try next time I play. Also, I have not noticed them pushing ATC from the SB with 6-9 BB's but I will pay attention next time.

I finally got a response from Pokerstars concerning the bots:

Thank you for your report. The integrity of our games is of utmost
importance to us, and when confronted with such suspicions, we have
one of our poker specialists undertake extensive research into the
players' relationships and past play.

I have forwarded your message to a poker specialist for review. Please
allow us some time to research this matter; it may take several days
if the matter is particularly complex. We will be back to you as soon
as possible with the results of our examination.

it seems pretty obvious now they are indeed bots. my apologies again for pulling the race card. it was actually lighthearted bantering that got out of hand.

question- why would they not play at FTP or party instead? those sites actually have a leaderboard that pays. i could understand being busted at party, but it seems that playing at FTP would be more profitable.
