Yes, the book is better but, Sleby's writing is difficult for some. I am born and raised in Brooklyn so I like it. (Selby writes like how a Brooklynite talks).

Also, I thought Jared Leto pulled off the Brooklyn accent perfectly, job well done!

It was good. I recommend watching the movie Pi as well.

Much better in my opinion.
