Tells outside the poker room
I often see myself observing the behaviour of people and deducing the meaning of these behaviours (tells) in social settings.
For example in club/bar environment when chatting up a stranger, awkward silences and moments of embarrassement are often covered up by them taking a sip from their drink and looking away. This is so obvious when I see it it cracks me up, and they have no idea that they're doing it. Does anybody else notice or pay attention to these things? What tells outside the poker room have you noticed? |

Re: Tells outside the poker room
Quick movements of lips and mouth. Feet are also important to watch and what they do with their hands. Body leaning towards or away. Pretty much what Navarro talks about.

Re: Tells outside the poker room
body language is a hardcore thing and something Ive picked up on since I was a kid but it wason a psych level completely different then poker and I never used it for poker since every time I played a home game I got smashed, I think it is a def insight to what is going on in a person's mind and now ur post has got me wanting to play a serious game in a live game

Re: Tells outside the poker room
i have noticed "tells" outside the pokerroom verry often.body language is very important.also the way someone speaks or the words someone chooses.i smell trouble or lies very fast, and without needing a particular hint that something is wrong.with strangers its not that easy, but people you know are mostly easy to read.in my live i made some really good "reading" especially with the women, and thats one thing i like the most about poker.you can use your "reading-ability"(as phil hellmuth once said)to make money with it^^
