Re: NL200 Top set, turn decision
I think I just caall here because he probably has a weaker hand that you have beaten badly 35% of the time or something and the rest of the time you can just boat up on the river.

Line is so weird i have to call. [/ QUOTE ] I mean, i assume villian had AK-AJs since thats the only line that kind of makes sense. Hes one of those passive players who can't fold soooted aces, so just calls preflop despite raise/reraise and being OOP. Flops a flushdraw which donks never fold, and he check calls because hes weak and then shoves when he hits. But if he plays these hands like this its certainly possible he has AA/KK and was trapping (he might even have no spade so was planning to check call allin with AA/KK on the turn until the spade hit and decided to push to stop it going check check and seeing a fourth spade on river) |

Re: NL200 Top set, turn decision
Come on guys, what are you all saying here. In this spot I dont think villian does that without a 7 or a flush. You are beat on the turn, and if you continue you are essentially drawing when you are beat WITH BAD ODDS.

What we're getting at, is that he does this with other stuff aswell. |

Re: NL200 Top set, turn decision
First thing I thought when I looked at this was JJ. Could even be QQ I guess if the gut shot made him feel more secure with his hand.

We can call vs that range anyway, and there are probably some hands in his range we are ahead of still. |

Re: NL200 Top set, turn decision
Hmmm, my initial reaction was fold. A big bet from a loose passive fish normally means a big hand. But after looking at the poker stove calculations maybe not. Even he he only has straights and flushes we're have 37% equity. Juuuust enough to call profitably. If you don't think he does this with anything else and you don't wanna gamble then fold otherwise it's a call I think.
