Apparently we did. I got caught because she gave the play by play to one of her friends who told her neighbors, one of whom happens to be friends with my ex-girlfriend. Not my finest moment.

i think cheating is pretty hard to overcome early in a relationship, especially in college...

As others have said the best thing you can do is just apologize to her (don't say "Im sorry for cheating" either). Tell her you made a mistake and apologize for hurting her as you never wanted to hurt someone you care so much about and you hope that she can find a person for her that can make her happy. End it at that so she cant hold it over your head if she gets back with you and it also shows her you arent desperate to have her back so it gives her this interest of why isnt he saying he wants me to take him back.
You never can give a woman control in a relationship as if you do you will never be happy (not being sexist no one of any sex should give up control in relationship). Biggest thing is you need to learn from this and mature before you try and get in a serious relationship. Contrary to what people say it is ok to be in a serious relationship in college and college isnt always about getting drunk as if you have to get drunk to have fun then your life sucks. AS I said if you dont get back with her then learn from the experience for future relationships. But a serious relationship can be successful in college when you are mature enough to do it.
