Caesar's IN has been spreading a smaller PLO game, $1-3 blinds and something like $300 or maybe $500 max buyin. It isn't a strong game but it goes from time to time.

in Oklahoma, we're starting to get 1/2 PLO and 1/2 mixed (NLHE and PLO) spread fairly often. Riverwind gets a 2/5 PLO occasionaly.

Matt,
Do you think PLO will really fly in the Vegas market?
I still have high hopes(dropping fast though)that a mix game in the PL style will make an appearance and take on some of the grander NL has at this time.
In fact, any PL game would be nice to see more frequently.

[/ QUOTE ]

Dunno. My guess is badugi > PLO because counting the pot is too complicated, at least until the computerized tables take over.

Matt: You know I love Badugi, but I don't think your even close to right on this one.

Around here we got a big uptick in badugi popularity and massive pots. There are even steady games of badugi hilo twice a week.

Matt, I hope your book doesn't have subliminal messages that you'd rather be playing something other than HE.

Oh _hells_ no.

Ed is a limit guy. You love badugi. I hope Sunny is a no limit hold 'em guy. Yikes.

Yeah I love badugi. Best game ever. First time out, it was gonna be 200-400 badugi 9-handed. Big game for not knowing &^%#% about it. Took me about four hours to determine correct draw frequencies and a starting hand chart. TT even gave me a lesson.

Next day is game day. Saddle up the minivan, head down. Say hello real loud to Johnny even though I can't see him because he usually guards the big games. Hides most of the time. They hire him because everyone knows he'll shoot somebody for real. If you don't believe it just ask the last guy he shot. So I saunter in and they corn gristle me with the old bait-and-switch. Verbatim: "Sorry Doc, it's 5-handed $500-$500 badugi. Oh and we got a mandatory $1,000 straddle on the button." So of course I sit down anyway like a mullet. Look right, there's a black pistol-grip shotgun lying on the next table pointed at me. The conversation goes:

Me: "That gun loaded Roy?"

Roy: <indignant> "Sure is. What the hell you think?"

Me: "Well point it the [censored] away from me then."

Roy: "It ain't gonna go off."

Me: <get up, turn barrel around to point at Roy> "Then you won't mind it this way."

It takes one orbit to realize two of them can't fart straight. Doesn't matter. They get me for 15 dimes but at least they're quick about it.

I love badugi. Best. game. ever.

Maybe it's just a small sample so I'm overreacting, but my last two trips to Vegas (All-Star weekend, first weekend of March Madness) I found 3/6, 4/8 type games much tougher to find. Way more so than about 6 months before. I've played at Harrah's before, went there and they had about 5 tables running and it was all 1/2 NL. Caesars in March on a busy Sunday, waited for 4/8 to open up about 10 minutes as there were about 8 or 9 players on the list, when the 1/2 NL list got to about 6 players there was the announcement "We have a new 1/2 NL table opening up ... " I sat because I felt I had no choice. And I left LV thinking that I must try to become a better NL cash player or when I play live I either 1) won't find any limit games I want to play in, or 2) will run up against like-minded solid players in the limit games if I do find a game.

Why would they dare take away NLH cash games this is the best game ever. To me its the easiest game to trap fish for all there money or atleast you can make alot of money from bad players. I guess its all you Limit players crying "oh the variance" "he has more huevos then i do". Just stop crying and learn the game.

You still on this kick with the "limit players have no guts" thing rene? You've already been outed as a .01/.02 NL player after claiming to be a 10/20 player. That's sad enough.

But you noted yourself that you can't beat LHE, and based on the limits you play NL at, I assume you played your LHE at .02/.04. If that's correct, then you can't win at LHE at ANY limit... yet you keep talking all this garbage about how inferior LHE players are. Kind of pathetic... you might want to lay off that whole trip for a little bit.
