Re: Extracting value after mis-click from BB turns into pay dirt
TwistedEcho, I appreciate the feedback and to some extent agree that this line becomes more predictable, hence the baluga theorem. However, the opponent in question makes a HUGE difference as to what is the +EV play. Against a 2p2er, I probably win very little with this line. Against an average player, I probably win quite a bit with this line. Also, I wonder how +EV check-raise bluffing the turn with air would be in this spot against a 2p2er? Again, thanks for the feedback.
In hindsight, raising the flop seems to be the better choice than my line. Fortunately villain in this case couldn't get away from AA and called my all-in on the river (it was a J). However, I learned a lot about villain playing that hand against him and realize that a more solid player would definitely sense he was beaten on the turn. |

Re: Extracting value after mis-click from BB turns into pay dirt
Well, he had ACES so its not like hes going to fold anyway, i would just checkraise the flop, lead turn and shove river.
The problem with doing stuff like checkraise bluffing the turn vs 2p2ers is you aren't a random that long - once they work out you are a thinking player and don't suck like all the randoms who use that line - then it goes onto multiple levels (they know that you know that they know etc) and it gets tough. I agree if you are an unknown you can probably take advantage of this and pwn known 2p2 regulars a bit before they realise you can play. I have notes on several players at 200nl stars that say 'probably 2p2' |

Donk the flop smallish - $5 is pretty norm for me.
Get it all in when he tells you he is married to his hand. |
