Because you can confirm yourself later just by posting "I cannot be lynched." The ability to claim is hugely +EV. Then again, if you aren't going to be around at lynch time... :/ You don't want the wolves to know you are confirmed right now, you want them to spring the confirmation on them later when we can just come out with a bajillion claims and seer peeks and win. This is also why the DIVIDE UP SEER PEEK PLAN is good: Because villager peeks are very, very important in this game (especially when kyro dies).
