Default rivered trips with top kicker, $50NL

Villian is running 50/10/0.12 after about 70 to 100 hands

I am in CO with ~$53, and Villian has me covered and is sitting in the SB

I am dealt A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], folds to me, I raise it to $2, folds to Villian in SB who calls, BB folds

Pot is $4.5 Flop is 2 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

Villian checks, I bet $4, Villian calls

Pot is $12.50, Turn is (2 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]) T [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

Villian checks, I check

Pot is $12.50; River is (2 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]) 5 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

Villian bets $5, I raise to $15 , Villian pauses and shoves, Do I call this passive villian's bet?

Please comment on any other streets if you feel I could have played better there as well.

I vote call. I don't see what he's calling a raise with that you beat, but I can't fold here against a guy playing 50% of his hands.

He could have T7 and think his two pair is good.

Sorry, I misread the action. I thought he raised, and then the villian reraised, but not all in.

Agreed - River play is fine, call the push.

Why wouldn't you call his shove? What hand could you put him on that would beat your set? He figured you were cbetting the flop so he called. When you checked the turn (I would have bet it btw) you told him you were worried about the strength of your hand since that flop isn't that scary. So he bets the river and when you raise he figures that 5 pair didn't help you since he's going on your cbet of the flop. Unless you can put him on 25, 75, T5, 77, or TT you're golden.

Villian just led the river, and then shoved over my raise. This is the first time I have seen him do anything than check call. Look at his AF, it's not even a 1! For those of you you think this is easy, doesn't that fact that a call station is suddenly raising like crazy on a paired board give you pause?

FWIW, I called this bet, but I wasn't happy about doing so at all, one of those puke first and then call, except it wasn't for enough money to puke. More like, "let's see what FTP did to me this time."

Wouldn't he shove with most 5s?
