[/ QUOTE ] There is nothing to know about dealing Chinese poker. Deal 4 stacks of 13 cards. This is typically done with one deck while they are playing with the other deck. You pass out the stacks of cards and start shuffling the other deck. There is no need to know how to read hands or calculate points. In fact if you try to see what the hands are etc you will be told to mind your own business. The key to this game is the players don't want to ever wait for the dealer; the dealer is expected to shuffle and deal 4 stacks of 13 cards faster than the players set their hand. |

I will also be auditioning for the WSOP. I will give a report after I audition but right now I can tell you what i know. Assigning levels to the dealers sounds likely as they told me that the better dealers will have their choice of what they want to deal and the dealers with less skill will be forced to deal what is left over(2-4 limit lol). I do not know what quality of dealers they will be hiring, and I have heard many stories of how bad their dealers are. However I dealt for 4 years in a casino while I went to college. I have had about 9 months off from dealing, but I am still planning on brushing up my skills before I go to the audition and would recommend the same for anyone else. One question I have is appropriate attire for the audition. I was planning on grabbing one of my suits as I have heard that is expected, but have also heard that business casual is standard. Anyone know?

(Sorry for the clutter TT, I didnt see this thread)
A friend of mine is going out to Vegas to audition for a dealing job for the WSOP, he has zero dealing experience. However, he has read the Professional Dealers Handbook and he is drug and alcohol free. He has also spent a few hundred hours playing live. Does he have a realistic chance of getting a gig? |

[/ QUOTE ] Technically, in Vegas, the dealer isn't supposed to read the hand at all because it's not considered an "official" game. The same, in fact, goes for Badugi as well even though I've seen it's become regular in the B mix games. Players are to call the hands themselves. |
