Default Two Plus Two\'s Under-optimized Ads

When I surf around the two plus two forums, I'm surprised that all ads are about poker. I think this is wrong. Sure, it's appropriate to put poker-related ads in forums like Poker Theory or MTT Strategy. But it does not make sense to put poker ads in American Idol Wagering. Perhaps affiliate links to some Idol sites would be more appropriate. Why not Bowflex ads in The Gym forum? If I recall correctly, Bowflex is on cj.com. Or Netflix and Fandango ads in the Laugh or Links forum. Maybe, eHarmony or match.com ads in Other Other Topics. Trading and brokerage sites in Business, Finance, and Investing, or something. Etc.

I don't think anything about this website is 'optimized' except it's ability to draw 15 year old donks.

A decent server admin should be able to sqeeeze quite a bit more money out of the site.

Unless things have changed recently, 2+2 is not in the affiliate business. They sell ad space for a set fee. I'm guessing that in the early days of the site their lawyers advised them to stay away from the affiliate business. I'm sure they would do well running affiliate ads for non-gaming sites on different forums, but i'm sure they have done the math and decided that its just best to offer ad space for sale.
