can someone explain what they like so much about vB? I've been checking out some sites with it and it seems fine, but not really anything super duper that I would write home about.

It's really fast. The search works really good. It has bold for threads with unread replies. It shows if you've posted in a thread. Viewing a users posts is easy. It has thread subscriptions.

The list goes on and on.

From just trying a couple forums, it is clear that the search produces fast and very good results.

That alone is probably worth a switch.
