That isn't a good flop for you because it hits a large proportion of his expected range.

Your draw isn't too strong either because you don't want a spade to come, and the 10 gives you the ignorant end. Even the three offsuit 5's don't give you the nuts.

Still, I would take a bet/fold line of about $40.

Just because he raised the button and you have some semiplayable hand doesn't mean you have to checkraise. Preflop you can just fold.

Having not folded, bet whatever your normal amount here is ~45 for me and if he pushes fold, if he calls shove any 5 turn, most clubs, and check if turn is a T (Ts you should shove)

There's nothing wrong with pf, get over it.

How bad is betting pot and calling shove?

lol i 3bet as much as the anyone at 200nl, but when you give a read someone is tight, i don't get why you decide to repop. I mean if you posted villian is multitabling tag with 22/18/3 stats or whatever it makes more sense, but you are going to have to play OOP with a tricky hand. Unless you think hes going to just fold preflop enough of the time, its not worth it.

its almost certainly -EV, but looks pretty close actually. Put him on a range and pokerstove it.

Looks like its close to 0EV.

If we add the fact that he will fold pf/flop a good % of time, plus metagame, it's +EV imo.

And again, i think theres nothing wrong with pf. Reraising QQ+/AK only is bad. That doesnt mean that i'll repop any sc against his otb steal, but yes, i'll repop light every once in a while.

Preflop is fine IF you have a reason for it, i mean if you just looked down at 67c and thought 'oh i'd like to play this hand, calling OOP kinda sucks so i think i'll just repop and see what happens' is bad - but if you saw hes a 20/18/3 and figured his range is huge enough that he folds a good % of the time, and you have a playable hand if he calls then sure raising is fine.

But if hes one of those players who has a small enough range that hes going to 4bet here a ton (or call to trap you with QQ+) OR he doesn't like folding then i think preflop is spew.

My guess is def -EV. Going for a cr all in is a much better option IMO. I prob just bet-fold though.

Holdemnewby,

Don't be lazy - you should have pokerstove and be able to do this yourself. However, i am feeling nice.

If we cbet $45 we have to call $139 to win $283 and need 2:1 to call profitable (33%)

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 31.437% 30.95% 00.49% 8885 140.50 { 7c6c }
Hand 1: 68.563% 68.07% 00.49% 19544 140.50 { QQ+, 99-88, AQs, AsJs, AsTs, KQs }

If we add JTs, JJ and TT it gets much worse.

Board: Qs 8s 9c
Dead:

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 26.554% 26.10% 00.45% 11628 202.00 { 7c6c }
Hand 1: 73.446% 72.99% 00.45% 32518 202.00 { 88+, AQs, AsJs, AsTs, KQs, JTs }

IN fact, this is the closest i can get

Board: Qs 8s 9c
Dead:

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 32.696% 32.11% 00.58% 10174 184.00 { 7c6c }
Hand 1: 67.304% 66.72% 00.58% 21138 184.00 { QQ+, 99, AQs, AsJs, AsTs, AQo }

Assuming villian folds KQ/JT/88 to a repop AND folds JJ/TT to a cbet
