he didnt play 100 games yesterday. He best pick up the pace.

[/ QUOTE ]I played 106 yesterday. My ROI was 10% and I made $37 at sngs and $25 at PLO.

I wouldn't bet on you but I'm rooting for you. GL. What's your bankroll?

[/ QUOTE ]$500 in PS. I have $150 in UB, but I just play around at the penny tables and $1 tourneys there. I'm still working off a doposit bonus on UB.

[/ QUOTE ]

for the love of god if you know how to play sngs move up to the $6.50s. you're rolled for it, the rake wont eat you alive like at the 3.40s, and i dont think they are much tougher at all although its been a while.

[/ QUOTE ]

if he has any game, he should go straight to the 16's. He can make $500 work there.

If you bust so be it. Go back to your job and save up a bank roll and give it another shot.

No sense and wasting time at the 3's if you know u can play.

I'm confident you can beat the 16s with your results. Give those a shot. You're almost rolled for the 27s.

Maybe true, but patience is a virtue. The kid's living off a small roll. Its going to be necessary for him to be overrolled (50BB+) than underrolled. I can afford it and I didn't start dabbling in the 16s or the 27s w/o 50BBs at each jump though i didn't have a 20% ROI anywhere at anytime.

Re: Bankroll Management

I have to disagree with some people here. Given the OP's situation, I think it's very important that he play as high as possible, in this case the 27's. Here's why.

1) If he's going to get ruined by some nasty downswing, it's better that it happen sooner rather than later. He can go back to driving the taxi if need be, and it's better to try the poker thing for two weeks and fail than being gone for three months and failing. His driving skills will have deteriorated less and he's more likely to have that fall-back available.

2) Things always cost more than you think they do. Appliances break, pets get sick, really hot chicks need to get impressed/boned, and so on. What good is the freedom of being a poker player if you're a slave to the hours and wages anyway? Playing "professional" milli-stakes poker is like getting all-in preflop with AA vs. KK and asking to chop the pot 60/40. Go big or go home.

3) People play almost as bad at the 27's as they do in the 11's or 3.4's or whatever. People play disgustingly bad in the 216's. If you're a good player, you'll beat any level and it's just a matter of bankroll and personal comfort.

4) LIFE GAMBOOOOLLLL!!!!!! C'mon. It's fun. 20 buy-ins is a lot anyway.

I wouldn't be surprised if wickss is driving a taxi a few days after moving to 16s.

I've played my whole life with less than 25 buy-ins in my site accounts at any one time and have only had to reload them maybe twice. I run hot though.

Kibby != Slim - this is for certain.

I like everything that slim has to say but I'm certain it wouldn't work for me.

I guess its a question of goals.

Would you rather grind away for a long time at low returns but be confident at where you were at and have a low chance of ruin?
or
Would you rather find out if you have what it takes (or burn out an go away through no fault of your own) within a month or two but make more money than in a week than driving a cab in a month?

I'm a nit with a job and I chose the first but I can see how lots of people like the second.

there is no reason to move to the 6.5's now!

Move to the 16's as soon as you hit 1k.
