Poker Stars
No Limit Holdem Tournament Blinds: t200/t400 (Ante: t25) 2 players Converter Pre-flop: (2 players) Hero is SB with J;A Hero raises to t1200, BB raises to t3000, Hero raises all-in t8995, BB calls all-in t1455. Uncalled bets: t4540 returned to Hero. I would just like some honest feed back on this hand. I just registered for 2+2 and I'm trying to get better. Thanks |

post stacks. stacks are king in SNGs.
Open-pushing PF when he has 11BB is unexploitable. |

Hi Zep,
First, this was a 9-handed SNG, right? So you had 9000 to 4500 chip lead going into this hand, correct? That being said, I think you played the hand just fine. With a hand as strong as AJ in high blind heads up play, you want to get all your chips in the center pre-flop. Shoving immediately certainly works, and is your best play particularly if Villain is a loose caller and might call off 11BB or so with a marginal hand. But a standard raise works fine too, and you should be perfectly content to get action when he reraises. (Although since you are posting this hand, my guess is Villain flipped AQ+ or QQ+ -- in which case, that's poker...) Best Regards, Collin |
