Default Biatholon

Team rely event on USA right now. They are about halfway through, should take another 45 minutes or so.

Shooting straight is easy. Shooting straight when your heart rate is ~175 from cross country skiing is not so easy.

The army offered my father an opportunity to train for the biatholon in the 1968 (I think) Olympics. He and my family were stationed in Alaska at the time.

It was extremely early in the process. So, there's no way of knowing how far he could have gotten. However, Dad wasn't interested so nothing came of it.

The targets are 50 meters away and aren't much bigger than the size of coasters. Plus, the fact that your heart is pumping quite hard.

I've tried this in a Summer Biathlon (running/shooting) and the targets were only 25 meters away and it was hard to do.

Wouldn't it be cooler if there was no path and they just went around the woods hunting animals? I know the peta people would love it.

Thanks for informing me about a sport I've been following for 30 years.
My point is we had twice as many misses as the other teams which is inexcuseable.

Interesting, they mentioned one of the guys on the team was in the army and would be going to Iraq following the Olympics.
