Re: Plz help me pick the right stakes to play
I think a lot of people are underestimating the magnitude of adjustment in going from shorthanded to full ring play. That's not to say that someone who beats HU/6-max soundly won't be able to win in FR. They certainly will. It just takes some adjustments, and stepping into a mid-stakes game without having practiced those adjustments strikes me as unwise.
Then again, I'm not enough of a gambler to be a poker player. |

Re: Plz help me pick the right stakes to play
Just go to Bellagio and play their $2/$5. It's the lowest NL game they spread, so it attracts a lot of people who may otherwise play $1/$2. The max buy in there is $500, where the Wynn is uncapped (and from what I've been told it can run pretty deep at times).
I play 100/200 6 max online and I thought the 2/5 a the Bellagio was laughably soft. Just play tight and solid and you will win teh monies. |

2 more quick questions
Ok well I'm staying at a place called the Red Rock Resort since everything on the strip that's somewhat nice is booked. I'm only staying there Saturday night n then Sunday-Wed moving back to the strip.
So, 1, anyone know anything about the games there? 2. If I wear sunglasses will I immediately be pinned as a dbag? I mean I wanna make some money, but this whole trip is fer fun--hopefully a real good vacation before i enter the working world in may. |

Re: 2 more quick questions
What's the over/under for guys coming into town just like this on any given weekend? 200? 300? Don't forget the ballcap turned backward and the really cool Party Poker jacket.
A lot of guys who've never played live think they can crush the game and get their head handed to them. A lot. Hopefully, you'll be playing the 1/2 today and enjoying your time in Vegas and not trying to impress us local yokels with your play. (I'd run down the street to the RR, but there will be fifty guys in there with no tans wearing sunglasses.) |

Re: 2 more quick questions
Leave the sunglasses home. Don't need them AT ALL. I use to wear them and people just think you look crazy if you do. Rooms are bright as hell so people will probably think you are cracked out. Check out Sahara and Paris. If you like real loose players check out Mandalay Bay 1/2NL. I was in Vegas 3 weeks ago and these rooms are no problem.

Re: 2 more quick questions
Put the whole $2k on black and then you will have $4k to sit in the $5/10 NL game.
Good luck and post a trip report. |
