Comment on Tough Hold\'em Games
Received my copy today. Very excited to digest it. One observation:
The starting hands chart on P. 12 bears striking similarity to Abdul Jalib's 1999 chart in "Hold'em Preflop Strategy According to Abdul" here: http://web.archive.org/web/200501010...lop-abdul.html |

Re: Comment on Tough Hold\'em Games
Another comment.
Roughly 48 of the first 68 pages are PokerTracker chart results for various hands by position for three representative winning players. First time I have ever seen this stuff in a book. Will take some time to digest, although they draw conclusions from this raw data in recommending their preflop hand ranges. |

He was one of the original "testers" for that product. I think the guy is awesome and since our starting hands are based on sims and emperical data I consider it corroboration of our findings that they are similar. |

Re: Comment on Tough Hold\'em Games
Excellent post-flop breakdown by betting line. Never seen anything like it in the literature. Conceptualizing the flop and turn betting rounds as a sequence is genius, and the guidelines for how to choose which line based on the opponent and the strength of your hand/draw are spot on.
Well done. |

DO you think this book is better then HFAPL [/ QUOTE ] For today's tough and 6max internet games? Clearly. HPFAP was written before the boom. Before computer simulations. Before PokerTracker. Before PokerStove. It was a slightly different game back then. |
