Reached 4000 hands - comments on stats?
Hi,
Have reached 4000 hands (yeh i know drop in the ocean!) but would like to get some feedback. To be honest I think i'm suffering from this horrible thing called variance!! I'm sure some of you have seen my posts and have commented on how the villian 2 outed me again(and again!)Is it possible to get a bad run over a couple of 1000's hands. I haven't tilted, just kept trying to learn from my mistakes and keep playing solid. My Stats: 40/14/3 I know 40 is way too high. have been playing mostly 10NL...2000 hands bb/100 is 12..comments? also played 25NL....bb not so good! please post stats questions in the Stats thread and not in the main forum - matrix |

Re: Reached 4000 hands - comments on stats?
40 VPIP is very high and normally the sign of a leak. There are some players who can pull off a very loose style, but they have the postflop experience to enable them to get away from losing hands. They are also far and few between. I suspect you're playing more hands out of position than you should be. Eliminate the weaker hands from OOP (including calling raises from the blinds), and you're on the right track.

Re: Reached 4000 hands - comments on stats?
4000 hands can easily be variance. If you have Pokertracker, check your stats according to pokeys guide (in stickies), make sure you play much less hands from EP then from LP. If you see you play to many eliminate your weaker holdings should bring your vpip down. 12bb/100 is good, but as said allready to small of a sample. I was running wondefull for 10k hands at 50NL and some 100NL before reality kicked in ..

Full Tilt Poker
No Limit Holdem Ring game Blinds: $0.10/$0.25 6 players Converter Stack sizes: UTG: $55.85 Hero: $24.60 CO: $2.30 Button: $13.95 SB: $15 BB: $34.15 Pre-flop: (6 players) Hero is UTG+1 with 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] UTG raises to $1, Hero calls, 4 folds. Flop: 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ($2.35, 2 players) UTG bets $2, Hero calls. Turn: 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] ($6.35, 2 players) UTG bets $4, Hero calls. River: J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ($14.35, 2 players) UTG bets $6.5, Hero raises to $14, UTG raises all-in $48.85, Hero calls all-in $3.6. Uncalled bets: $31.25 returned to UTG. Results: Final pot: $49.55 AKQJ: I know vpip of 40 is horrible, but have lost a few huge pots to bad beats. I do have poker tracker and agree stats in EP are a little poor( no they are actually S*%t!) but but i'm in the positive in MP and way up in LP...so its something to work on. My biggest concern is the amount I'm losing with pocket pair??? I do all the ABC stuff as i'm only starting, but seem to run into things like the hand above: this absolutely hammers my stats as i have only played 4000 hands and it shows up big time in PT. Hopefully in the long run it'll turn into a positve? Any more comments or questions would be great, love the feedback from the 2+2er's |
