I warned you about this Tuff ... this thread is now hopelessly bogged down into an argument about what legal online poker should ideally look like rather than whether we should have it at all, and how best to get it.

And I really think a simpler petition would have had a good chance of success in California.

Take this one to the public and see if it sells ... you will have to do this most likely without a majority of poker players helping, but I wish you good luck (something is still better than nothing).

But if it doesn't sell, hopefully you'll come back with a simpler more flexible petition and generate more support among the poker regulars.

I think this is a decent idea that has been bastardised by Tuff's resentment at not being able to consistently beat the online games.

If he has such a problem with HUDs, and multi-tabling than he should just start a local home game, instead of loading down an initiative with so much crap that most hardcore online players will not support it.

A civil and rational reply.

Yes, I am learning that actually putting an initiative forth is a lot of work.

Take this one to the public and see if it sells.

In a nutshell, that is exactly the plan.

I didn't really expect the first try to go through without a hitch. But it had been educational and sort of fun.

While I was talking to veterans, I recently met one of the handfull of survivors off the USS Juneau. That was the ship that carried all five of the Sullivan Brothers down with it when it was torpedoed off Guadalcanal. The few that got off the ship ( it went down within a couple minutes) drifted for days and almost all perished before rescue. This incident became famous both because of the five brothers and the fact the Navy didn't attempt any rescue of the survivors.

I knew of the story before, but actually meetng one of the guys was very interesting.

Anyway, we will see how it all turns out.

If you didn't have to pay to start an initiative I would think tuff was just trying to bait people... I can't believe how quick he is to write off constructive criticism.

I live in CA and would never vote for this. Luckily it won't ever be put to a vote.

In a completely free and open market, I wouldn't care. But it ain't free or open, so whatever I do, I will do it my way.

Here's a crazy thought. Why not write a proposal that MADE it free and open?

Good luck passing the initiative by yourself, you self-important imbecile.

Tuff is as irrelevent as he is stupid, we've given this nonsense enough valuable time. Let's just ignore this and move on with our lives as all of CA most likely will.

This is such a rediculous long shot. These kinds of restrictions are so far over the heads of the general public, Tuff. How do you expect people to help you pass something they know nothing about and moreover, how do you expect to get support from the general public if they don't really care about these things? Let's get online poker back before we start trying to ruin it again.
