PLO25: folding top set on river
SB a bit aggro.
Standard fold? It depends? Am I dumb? Full Tilt Poker Pot Limit Omaha Ring game Blinds: $0.10/$0.25 5 players Converter Pre-flop: (5 players) Hero is BB with 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] UTG calls, CO folds, Button calls, SB calls, Hero checks. Flop: 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ($1.0, 4 players) SB checks, Hero checks, UTG checks, Button checks. Turn: 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ($1.0, 4 players) SB bets $1.25, Hero raises to $3.10, 2 folds, SB calls. River: 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ($7.2, 2 players) SB bets $7.45, Hero folds. Uncalled bets: $7.45 returned to SB. Results: Final pot: $7.10 Edit: corrected pot sizes |

Re: PLO25: folding top set on river
easy fold. The pot sizes are not correct convertet.
But it seems you must call nearly potsize at the river and it is obviously he is on a draw. At the river he gets the straight or the spades flush to over 90% I think. So I see not how you can win here 30% of the times. |

Re: PLO25: folding top set on river
The converted has so trouble with such low stakes it seems. I corrected the pot sizes manualy; I hope it is correct.
Here on the flop I failed to bet my top set, for deception and to check that there is no spade on the turn. Flawed logic? |

Re: PLO25: folding top set on river
Yeah generally you should be betting sets on the flop. It's Pot Limit and the pot is only going to get as big as you make it when you have a strong hand. The only reason reason to check in this spot on the flop is if you have an aggro player behind you that will stack off with a variety of made hands and draws.

Re: PLO25: folding top set on river
yeah i hate that play - i would check to an agressive player who had raised pre flop, but as the old saying goes 'dont go broke in an unraised pot'
the one hand he might have you can beat on the river, 10's, would probably have got his money in on the flop in this spot, so you have allowed this hand an opertunity to beat you by bluffing the river against a number of opponents, in an unraised pot with a draw heavy board you must bet. a deceptive play might be to flat call a re raise on the flop, then fire at a blank turn. this would pretty much ensure you get paid v TT, as some players would fold middle or bottom set to a re re raise on the flop |

Nice analysis.
Indeed the SB had TT (he showed it). Thanks for the replies all! |

Re: PLO25: folding top set on river
Every draw that was calling your bet on the turn, just hit. So yes, an easy fold.
