Well I try to place bets at the best price, if the price has gone better after I bet, my reaction would be to hedge and eat a small loss.
So maybe I shouldn't hedge at all? |

The -EV of hedging is greater than the -EV of holding a bad bet. If your bet is -EV, you will lose money either way, but you will lose less if you just let the bet ride.
Assume that you held the Cin +100 ticket and the real odds were Cin +103.5. That loses $1.70 on your $100 bet. Hedging the Cubs at -107 loses $3.38. |
