its only standard when you arent facing a check raise. he has a good hand and isnt going to fold. just call his minraise

just call the min-raise. once sb check-min raises two things happen. (1) Our FE goes to crap and (2) we've all of a sudden got super-sweet odds to draw to our flush / 2pair / trips.

There is no reason to be raising pre in the first place, but I agree with machine on the flop

I push because you have a lot of outs and if a spade falls it's going to be hard to get value out of the villain.

Also, these idiots love to check/minraise me and I'll often have nothing and may have to fold, so I want them to start folding to my c-bets. It also makes it much easier to get paid with sets and your other good hands so it's great for your image also.

this is bad play and shows some flaws in your thinking

a) You get added EV from pushing combo draws when you have some FE, here you have none. It is important to understand the math behind these types of plays. When you push draws, even draws where you are the favorite over villans range you WANT villan to fold instead of call since you make more money by taking down the pot right away than you do when you race for stacks. Pushing combo draws with very little or no FE isn't the best EV play.

b) Hero is getting DIRECT ODDS to draw to flush, trips, two pair. So even if he wins no money after the flop when he hits his hand, the call is still profitable.

I have RARELY seen villians employ check-min-raises lightly at $25; I doubt one push will change their use of the tactic since average villian does it with a strong hand they're in love with. I wouldn't overestimate how an aggressive style can change this play. Obv. if you find a villian who check-min-raises lightly, it's noteworthy.
