Default $6 shootout, round 2 bubble time. Call this push?

Villain has been playing fairly tight, but after he lost an allin, losing 60% of his stack he has opened up and pushed more. If I call and win, I get first prize of round 2, and have a very healthy stack for the next round. Havent found a working converter for Party yet, so stay with me

***** Hand History for Game 5840424967 *****
Blinds 1k/2k - 75

Total number of players : 4
Seat 1: Villain ( 19,495 )
Seat 4: SB ( 38,650 )
Seat 8: Hero ( 52,635 )
Seat 9: UTG ( 38,815 )

Dealt to Hero [ A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] ]
UTG folds
Villain is all-In [19,420]
SB folds
hero ??

(Payout is as followed:

1st: $18.41
2nd: $12.27
3rd: $10.23)

Absolutely. You're 4 handed and villain has a short stack. A9 is ahead of his range. Call.

Not sure. If you lose, you're in 4th place. You have less equity to gain from knocking this guy out than the other two guys at 38K. Frankly his stack is not so small that I'm putting him on any random cards. I don't see a reason to risk ~40% of your stack on A9o.

I like this thought process on this hand... and I dont think he is saying he wants to fold because he wants to fold into 3rd...

youre getting 1.3-1 on your call, so 45% equity is needed if i calculated correct.

so it would only be incorrect if he was shoving the top 18.6%:

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 44.887% 41.41% 03.48% 1786646232 150246096.00 { A9o }
Hand 1: 55.113% 51.63% 03.48% 2227867656 150246096.00 { 66+, A5s+, K9s+, Q9s+, J9s+, A9o+, KTo+, QTo+ }

since you said he had been opening more lately, and he is on the button, i really would believe his button shoving range is wider than this if he is indeed opening up more

You cant just put villian on a range you are beating because it is convient for you... I dont think he is playing as light as you said, when I was readin openers comments about him opening his game after losing 60% of his stack, I immediatly thought... well duh... I mean he is now the shorty in 4th place on the bubble... he has to open up his game... I just dont think he is opening it up as lightly as you do... I think villian in this hand knows he cant get in enough steals before he is called to catch up... because the next closest stack size is 38k... he knows he needs to double through someone to get back in this one... anyways I could definatly be wrong so I wont post anymore on this... wait for a few more comments from the other forum members...

Just My Thoughts,

he has 9 BB, he is on the button, on the bubble, where he could still damage anyone that calls decently...honestly, id shove a huge range there.

and im not putting him on a range thats convenient for me, thats pokerstoves top 18.6% of hands and how A9o fares against them. i personally think its a very easy call

i know we like first in vigor in these types of times, but this is a call. i don't know many players who aren't pushing there with a large range
