Re: Nut straight on monotone flop ($9.90 360 max)
Most times in this situation with your small bet you're up against A - 8/9/10 with the A of hearts. If thats the case, they would have 7 outs (one heart gives you a straight flush). Puts it around 70% favorite with a flopped nut straight. Easy call. A flopped flush just isn't pushing a 40 chips bet there.

Re: Nut straight on monotone flop ($9.90 360 max)
I was not concerned with the guy who pushed but rather the guy who instantly called the all-in. Does no one fear him. Also, I have only one redraw out if I am currently beat. I am new to tournaments, so maybe I am playing too tight, but I thought it was a borderline spot.

Re: Nut straight on monotone flop ($9.90 360 max)
PB - this is not anyway near as clear cut as the other posters would make it out
Your getting basically two to one on your call. The first all in prob has 2 pair or AT, etc. i wouldnt worry about him The caller I think you have to put on a flush. At worst he has the A or K or a set. in any of those cases they have 8 or 9 outs so roughly 1/3 they hit. Given that half the time its a made flush and your most likely drawing dead, you're not getting the odds to call here 50% of the time your drawing dead + 50%x.33 = 67% for just the second caller. If the first pusher has two pair, set or a baby flush your in trouble as well I actually believe this is a clear fold |

Missed the SB call of the allin. Against one all in, easy call. With the SB call, I agree that this is a tough, but probably must, fold

Re: Nut straight on monotone flop ($9.90 360 max)
Considering all the other nonsense these 2 could have--2 pair, lower straight, set, tp+str8 draw, complete garbage--you just have to be willing to go all the way with a hand this strong.
Your biggest problem would be if you were up vs. Ah and a smaller made flush. If so, you join the next tourny. No big deal. But the reason you call here is simply because, esp. at this buy in, players who get all in this early tend to do so with a much larger range than any sane players would. |
