Default Buying VEHICLE

I'm homeless in Boston and need to buy a car to drive around in the next couple months. I'm looking for someing under 10K, used, 4 door, sedan, AC. Other than that not too picky.

Anyone know what models / makes to look for / stay away from?

I used to have a hyundai elantra that fit that catagory perfectly. Got it for 8 grand, it only had 17K miles on it, I put a TON of miles on that thing delivery pizza and never had a single problem with it. Great car.

Im sure lots of people would bag on it cuz its a hyundai tho, but I would totally recommend it to anyone

The usual Jap sedans last forever.. look for mid 90s Hondas or Toyotas. Check for rust, and if the miles are way high ask about whether the timing belt has been changed (depending on make needs to be done every 65k-90k)..

I'd stay away from anything by the American auto companies (GM, Chrysler, Ford, etc.)

Edit: And check here: http://boston.craigslist.org/car/
