25/50 Party
im new to the 25/50 games so i dont have any deep reads on any opponent there. Villain is a guy named "domcee" i dont have any stats nor reads from him, only impression = tagish . i get AQ in clubs in the BB. everyone folds to villain in SB he raises to 166, i repop him to 550 (5k stack) he calls OOP (he covers me). Flop: 9c Kc 4s he checks and i fire a 700$ contbet in the 1,1k pot, he quikly calls. turn: Ad he checks, i check behind river: 2s he pushes. 3750$ to call for me. the pot is 2,5k. i fold comments? |

Do you think villain was going for a C/R on the turn? Do you double barrel often in this spot? With the pf raise, I think he has a set/AK that he let you bet for him, and now he's taking you to value town on the river.
As played I vote for fold on the river. I can't imagine a tag playing anything AQ beats here the way the action went. |

I dont have a problem with the river but I think a tag quick calling flop then checking turn really isnt getting max-value out of a-k or a set

For your information, Domcee is a guy from Eastern Europe, who has been bleeding heavily in the 10/20 games (mostly on Boss Media) for a year or so and now quite recently found some luck. He has improved though, but still has some quite serious showdown leaks and "sudden blowup" leaks.
He can play a TAGish game in quite a while, and then suddenly he makes an extremely donkish calldown or mega bluff. You'll probably find him quite exploitable after a while. I think you have a call on the river here. His quick-calling is mostly "I DONT FOLD FOR NOBODY, HAHAHAHHAHA, CALL!", and given the texture of the board, I think you quite often will find hands like QJ, JT, TT, JJ, 45, although you might run into A9 once in a while. I have never seen him slowplay anything, so I kind of ignore sets and AK. - AB, playing SICK_TILT btw. |
