consider checking the flop. I beleive he paid too much for this but you paid him off. Or shoving pre.

you cant play it any other way other than shoving pre [/ QUOTE ] this is the best move if it works he's got a lot of chips here for an overbet. I'd want to be under 2000 for a push. imo [ QUOTE ] only has 1 psb [/ QUOTE ] what is a PSB? they're at 100/200 with 25 antes so 300+225 = 525 and he pushed in 2175 at the flop so I've got 4 which isn't great. Pushing Pre is best bet but ace high isn't big enough here and he may not push. If he does I'd fold. At least you can call a 200 bet. And a bigger card may scare him off. |

If he does I'd fold. so youre going to raise 800 of your 3k stack, then flop a FD + 2 over cards (which is a GREAT flop for this situation) and he only has one pot sized bet left, to check/fold? and the other guy has a pair + flush draw, he usually is not folding there |

I was just trying to say there are probably 3 ways to play this hand
1) all in preflop if you can get it absolutely you need to win with this hand I like this at the 200/400 blind level better 2) big bet preflop he did, but he missed and yes it hurts and you can't do often but I'd try to check my way out and hope the opponent doesnt' bet or bets small and I catch my flush or aq of course you could call an allin but tryin to get out cheap isn't a bad move at this point(200/400 blinds yes push). Note: leading out with an allin is my #1 mistake. 3) limping in and hoping for a reraise and pushing or this flop and trying to build would work too its more of a long shot but you'll win a trememdous pot 1/3 if it works. |

A line I like with AK, AQ UTG is:
Just limp preflop and follow the action. Action after you complete: 1. Raise and no callers back to me then Reraise AI. 2. Raise and Reraise, evaluate, I fold. 3. Raise and Caller/s behind, evaluate, is the caller a thinking player? $5.00 tourney I push to isolate. 4. A bunch of limpers, oh well u have the nut flush draw. The ideal situation preflop is limp/push I think. Is J 10 calling a push? If no one raises and you whiff then you can play post flop poker. Post flop. I push all the time. Diamond draw, plus two overs, plus fold equity = best play. My opinion fwiw ~loose |

No this is fine IMO. FD and 2 overcards warrants a oush anyday. You were unlucky.
