Same 5/10 game, completely different villains:
Villain 1: Brand new 30-ish guy in a tee-shirt. Villain 2: Decent looking 40-ish guy with some winnings. A little too loose. Preflop: A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Hero (utg+1) raises, villain 1 calls, idiot calls, villain 2 calls, more callers Flop: 7 players, 14 small bets K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Hero bets, Villain 1 raises, idiot folds (wow), Villain 2 3-bets, rest fold, Hero caps, call, call Turn: 2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Hero checks??? |

fine but you must call any and all bets to the river. you have no fold equity anyway so might as well get there as cheap as possible.
and pumping up the pot on the flop is very good. |

Obviously I draw, but you call with Ace high on the river?

not a chance. if both players somehow end up with QT then chalk it up to variance.

I'm sorry, I just misunderstood your "any and all bets to the river" part.
I guess this was a stupid post. What ended up happening is the turn went check, check, Villain 2 bet, we called. River was a blank, and we check, check, check. At this point I'm starting to wonder if I should've kept betting. Villain 1 had JTs. Villain 2 had the mysteriously 3-bet AJs. I was very suprised and figured if I would've bet the turn and river I would've won. But I guess that is results oriented thinking. |

I think you played it right and are focusing on results, as you played the hand correctly. Even though they both had J-x, you've gotta put one of them on having at least a pair of Kings given the betting/raising on the flop. Check-call with the nut flush draw and gutshot str8 draw was obviously good, but why then lead out on the river when you missed your draw? Not going to get 2 players in low limit poker to fold to 1 bet on the river for a pot that big unless they're really tight, a rarity.
