I have been playing this game ever since buy in raised to $300. I agree that the quality of play is horrid and I can't even remember a losing session here.
I am starting to feel like I am becoming a worse player in general by playing this game even though I continue to win consistently. I am going this week and am going to play 2/5 instead. Is the quality of player really that much better? I am assuming I can't value bet TPTK on the river but what type of players can I expect to encounter. I am starting to realize that winning at 1/2 consistently really does not mean much and that if I want to become a better player I need to play against better players. But then again if there is not much more profit at 2/5, is there any sense in moving up from a pure profit standpoint? Is there more profit to be made at 2/5? I easily have the bankroll for 2/5. |

2/5 is a real easy game as well, 5/10 live even has a good amount of bad players also. You will have no problem with it.

2-5 during the week can often be populated with weak tight types. my feeling is if you want to play against better players(although not necessarily better, just tighter), go ahead and move up. at night and weekends the game may loosen up more, but overall the 1-2 is more profitable IMO.

The 5/10 and 1/2 games are both better than the 2/5 in my experience.

Thanks. Hopefully a quick review of Miller's chapter in Theory and Practice on weak tight will get me in the right mindset.

[/ QUOTE ] the so called "best players" are weak tight dopes anyway, i used to play limit with them before the NL boom and they sucked there, now they are just nut peddlers in NL |

I play all of the NL games pretty regularly in 10-60 minute sessions waiting for tables. I agree with ghazban's post completely. There is usually a bit more money on the table in the 2/5 game than the 1/2 but there is soooo much more action in the 1/2.
