Speaking of poker tips from this book, I took to heart the comment about how a very common intermediate mistake poker players make is juging others by there own psychology instead of from a neutral point, like if your a positional player, thinking that others' button raises are meaningless, or if you are a tactical player, thinking that another's flop raise definitely means he's on a draw. Lately I've paid attention to not being biased with my analysis this way, and i feel it's paid of substantially.

This is definitely good advice. To tell you the truth, I have a bit ofa lazy brain, in the sense that I neglect to apply the valuable information i read in books, but instead just play on autopilot most of the time. That's probably why i usually only break even.

What other books have you liked?

Have you read Poker Nation? It's next on my list.

I read it and was not impressed. I keep most of my books, but sold that one. Mason gave it a bad review here. Here is another review.

I enjoyed Poker Nation even though, in certain areas, it was clear that the author didn't know what the hell he was talking about.

WOW, this is MY life. I'm telling you, this is really how some players live and damn, its scary. this book is 100% authentic and it grasps a professional's life almost perfectly. The bad beats, the ups the downs, the freedom of it all. This book captures my life to the needle.

Did i tell you?!!

Doesn't this book make you excited? I've been frustrated because it seems no one's reading this. (i suppose it's too new) I feel like the greatness of this book is a secret that I'm telling everyone, but no one's listening.

Man, I like so much about it. Dude, how great is the quote "You want the complete experience of poker in two filn hours? Go rent the "Perfect Storm." Or how about the AQ in France, or the honest person descriptions. And how funny is the writing a lot of the time.

A total instant classic.

I'm proud that this thread has my name on it as the starter.

Congrats on reading it. Are you finished with it? It's a real smooth quick read, huh? I couldn't put it down.

For those of you that live in LA, is the traffic really as bad as this book says?
