I wouldn't have three-bet postdraw, either. I figure I'm probably beat here but pay it off with a call on the decent chance that he's overvaluing small or medium trips. But I'm certainly not going to jam it postdraw on the likelihood that he caught a full house.

Also, I want to address your compulsion to automatically, without any thought whatsoever, draw one to trips. Let's put that right alongside the limp-reraise and the check-raise as among the most overused plays in low-limit poker.

There are about five reasons why that is not a good play in this case. Think about it for about 45 seconds and you'll see why I say that.

yes 3beting was risky, and i might have not done it had i thought longer, heh.

i do remember giving it 5 seconds at the table. i think what happened was that i forgot his original open-limp on the button (*drawy), 'cause i sent it back around and he reraised me. i guess from then on i had him cast on a 2pr/trip hand...honestly i was very suprised to see he was on the draw. Anyways, that was why i thought i could make it $6 postdraw, i thought he would call with <JJJ like, all the time. When he capped i assumed i was wrong, and he did make the house.

I agree in hindsight that stopping at $4 would be best postdraw.

ff, i wouldn't call it a compulsion, really. i'll draw 3 to trips a few times a session too, and i know spots where its surely the better line. But i think most situations are best served with drawing the same to trips and 2pr, so drawing one. I'm sure i get more action. original donkey decided to give me 4 bets after the draw, doubt he would if i cap and then draw 2.

here from jsut now- this continues the theme of how good i am at being dealt big trips.
*button is a very good player, TAG, and cognizant of gap principle - this is excellent, as my 999 looks monster to he likely holds big 2pr or small trips. perfect. others are loose-passive unknowns.

Limit 5 Card Draw ($1/$2) (converter)

SB ($12.90), Seat 4
BB ($17.30), Seat 7
UTG ($73.45), Seat 9
Hero ($51.75), Seat 10
Button ($66.65), Seat 1

SB posts $0.50. BB posts $1.

Hero is CO with [9s Th 9d 9c 8c]

Round 1: (1.50 SB)

SB takes 3. BB takes 3. UTG takes 2. Hero discards Th . Button takes 2.

Hero has [9s 5d 9d 9c 8c]

Round 2: (5.00 BB)

<font color="red">SB bets. </font><font color="#666666">BB folds. </font><font color="#666666">UTG folds. </font><font color="green">Hero calls. </font><font color="green">Button calls. </font>

Pot: (8.00 BB - $16)

Results: (in white)

<font color="white">Pot: $16, (including rake: $0.80)

SB shows [ JC,AS,KS,KH,JD ]
Hero shows [ 9S,5D,9D,9C,8C ]
Button mucks cards [ 7S,7D,QS,4H,7C ]
</font>

i play this good? was happy to get overcall. didnt feel thrilled calling SB who had drawn 3 to a high pair.
i guess this didnt matter if i draw 2 or 1, as drawing 2 he might both just check/call me?

yeah, its got to be 1 step above moot, but tossing K vs 6 is worth something. maybe once a month it will win me a pot.

Maybe button misread his hand

Another possible explanation is that button got pissed off when you raised him OOP pre-draw. Then he tilt-bluffed in a desperate attempt to punish you for it.

This is likely the correct answer. Now the question is how to induce this response in ohter players too!
