Re: Stupid I-don\'t-play-draw-often questions
I wouldn't have three-bet postdraw, either. I figure I'm probably beat here but pay it off with a call on the decent chance that he's overvaluing small or medium trips. But I'm certainly not going to jam it postdraw on the likelihood that he caught a full house.

Re: Stupid I-don\'t-play-draw-often questions
Also, I want to address your compulsion to automatically, without any thought whatsoever, draw one to trips. Let's put that right alongside the limp-reraise and the check-raise as among the most overused plays in low-limit poker.
There are about five reasons why that is not a good play in this case. Think about it for about 45 seconds and you'll see why I say that. |

Re: omg, raising war! (verylowcontent)
yes 3beting was risky, and i might have not done it had i thought longer, heh.
i do remember giving it 5 seconds at the table. i think what happened was that i forgot his original open-limp on the button (*drawy), 'cause i sent it back around and he reraised me. i guess from then on i had him cast on a 2pr/trip hand...honestly i was very suprised to see he was on the draw. Anyways, that was why i thought i could make it $6 postdraw, i thought he would call with <JJJ like, all the time. When he capped i assumed i was wrong, and he did make the house. I agree in hindsight that stopping at $4 would be best postdraw. |

Re: Stupid I-don\'t-play-draw-often questions
ff, i wouldn't call it a compulsion, really. i'll draw 3 to trips a few times a session too, and i know spots where its surely the better line. But i think most situations are best served with drawing the same to trips and 2pr, so drawing one. I'm sure i get more action. original donkey decided to give me 4 bets after the draw, doubt he would if i cap and then draw 2.
here from jsut now- this continues the theme of how good i am at being dealt big trips. *button is a very good player, TAG, and cognizant of gap principle - this is excellent, as my 999 looks monster to he likely holds big 2pr or small trips. perfect. others are loose-passive unknowns. Maybe button misread his hand
Another possible explanation is that button got pissed off when you raised him OOP pre-draw. Then he tilt-bluffed in a desperate attempt to punish you for it. |
