baseball question
I started betting after last years baseball season, so I didn't have a chance to bet on it so I'm not familiar with the lines. I was looking at Mondays lines and saw Orioles +185/Twins -215. The Twins seemed like a good bet, so I picked it and went to confirm. Then I had to chose between..
"Action" "Santana-L / Bedard-L" "Bedard-L / "Action" "Santana-L / "Action" After browsing google a little, I found out that "L" means listed pitcher and if that pitcher does not pitch, the bet is ruled no action. So, if I'm not missing anything and/or wrong, wouldn't it be +EV to pick "Santana-L / Action" because if he doesn't pitch, then the bet is no action. But if I picked just action, then there'd be a chance he would be pulled before the game and someone else would start, resulting in the Twins have a smaller chance of winning. Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I didn't want to make a mistake, so I figured I'd ask. |

Re: baseball question
If there is a pitching change, bettors who listed their pitchers get no action.
Bettors who did not list their pitchers have action--at an adjusted price. The line on Santana vs Bedard is currently -230. Let's say Bedard gets scratched, and is replaced by Glass Joe. The book takes down the game, and puts it back up at a new price: Santana is now -450 vs Glass Joe (take back +380). Santana (L) vs Bedard (L) = no action, since Bedard didn't go. Santana (L) vs action = a bet on Santana at -450. Action vs Action = a bet on the Twins at -450. Action vs Bedard = no action. |
