I made plans to meet up with poster RobbtheDuck at the Showboat this past Saturday night.
I planned on playing the $1-$2 no limit game. The regular players play bad and the walk through players play worse. The games feature a $1 bad beat jackpot after the house rakes up to 10% up to $4 max. Factor in a standard dealer tip ($1)and a player will lose $6 on every pot over $40. Does playing with the bad players in a comfortable room make up for the added expense of this bad beat jackpot? Any thoughts? Anyone think only nits would care about the $1 and have fun and gambool? FYI, a dude at my table had a shirt on that said "Donkpatrol" a couple of people questioned him about the shirt. He said he had another shirt with a Grip Reaper on the front that reads " I am here for your dead money". Ironically after losing $500 this player called it an evening. |

Always characters. Post Reecelights had an ATM sitting to his direct right. I had never seen a poker player happier to give his money away. The player from Ohio with the goatee that locked up with the annoying lady all night. |

depends what your goals are... If you are just there to have fun then yea the game is still beatable so if you enjoy it why not? I wouldn't exactly call it an income or anything though at those stakes with that drop.

You also have equity in winning the jackpot. Even though it is unlikely, when looking at the long run beatability of a game you can take that drop out of the equation.

You also have equity in winning the jackpot. [/ QUOTE ] Not nearly as much as a poor player. The local B&M bad beat jackpot is over 100K and I was playing 3/6 LHE Saturday night when this hand came up: UTG raises and it's folded to me in MP. I fold and the guy next to me calls two cold. Maybe one or two others in the hand to the flop. Flop comes, and the pre-flop raiser bets out. The guy sitting next to me says "Oh, well, the only reason I stayed was in case I hit the jackpot" and flashes me his hand as he folds - 5 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] |
