Anyone who went undrafted in the first draft. Usually it is used to pick up players to replace major injuries, since we have no bench. Also is a good place to pick up good rookies, since we pay $25 for each ROY.

not sure if anyone is still answering questions in this thread, but w/e:

in my league I need 20 starters: 11 hitters {2 catchers + standard positions + 2 utility} & 9 pitchers {at most 4 of whom are relievers}. we can keep an active bench of 5 guys, any position, plus DL players.

we can change rosters every day. 7 x 5 league.

question is, what should my optimal bench strategy be?

how many extra SP? extra RP? extra position players - and which positions?

right now my backups are a $1 2b (Kelly Johnson), 2 extra decent OF's, a great value backup 3b (Chad Tracy at $5) and 2 decent back up SP's. when Gagne comes back from the DL I'll have to drop someone. who? how does the rest of my bench makeup look?

Maybe you haven't heard "Pitching wins Championships"
I won't bash your team too much since you must be a rookie, but here is some advice!! Do some reasearch before you get in a fantasy league. You overvalued these players: Ichiro, Jones, Giambi, Schmidt. Randy Johnson may get 10 starts this year. Good luck, but it looks like you will become the joke of the league. Better luck next year rookie
