I was thinking about studying in Japan for a semester, or a year. Thoughts?

Yes, if this is somehow related to your later job and you got enough money.

I was really hesitant to study abroad (Germany). My parents convinced me to go even though I had serious doubts. I'm really glad I did, and think not going would have been a huge mistake.

I know ~25 people who went abroad. 0 of them regret the decision.

I know one kid who got arrested in Japan for posession of marijuana and spent a few months in jail, but I'm not sure if he was there to study abroad or not.
At any rate I know lots of people who have and I've never heard anyone say anything bad about it. Just make sure that you don't screw yourself over with requirements and stuff, especially if you are a math/science/engineering major. |

My brother has done it twice and loved it. I really regret not doing it.
