LOL, I find it hard to believe that people make meaningless posts just to increase their post counts when there are so many better reasons to make meaningless posts.

[/ QUOTE ]
Ok, perhaps there isn't any correlation between zero-content posts and post count, so please explain what are those 'many better reasons to make meaningless posts'.?

If you think the signal to noise ratio is bad here, you need to go join another forum or two. Then you can come back and congratulate the Mods and the other powers that be on their most excellent forum.

I think there's a wealth of knowledge here about poker and gambling that you can't find anywhere else on the web. I think there's thousands of great posts and a lot of great posters. Please don't take this as a stab at 2+2.

I QFT things because I think they bear repeating and for no other reason.

I guess this is where you lose me, why does something bear repeating when it's right there a couple of posts up?

If someone expresses something well, why reword it just to say the same thing worse? Quoting something is just a way of expressing support.

So when you're talking to someone and they say something you agree with you just sit there looking at them w/o saying anything?

I like to make up my mind about something by reading the arguments for and against it, not by how many people are for or against it. It's great to say you apricaiate someone's post, but why not send a PM to that person then.

Well you can certainly form your opinion the way you wish. The fact is however that certain posters are more respected because they kill the games they play in. I would rather they weight in by quoting a post they agree with then keeping silent. The sending PM's idea would be a huge annoyance. That's never going to happen.

There's a difference between a discussion in a public thread and a private conversation.
