Re: Account hacked on PS!!
[ QUOTE ]
Well im not an hacker, but i had an account that was hacked...and i think theres many information on the internet in how to hack an hotmail account. I dont know if its possible nowadays, but 1 year ago...it was very easy to do that. How do you know the Bruno is German-Italian? [/ QUOTE ] run a search - 99% of the methods out there are actually phishing attempts to get YOUR password - (they tell you to use an account 30 days old, etc, and you end up giving away your own password) - Hotmail is ok - though it had issues years ago, methinks - either way, the way this usually plays out is backdoor trojans or sniffers on the workstation that capture the password or get access to a pw file that has several pw's in it, and generally a person uses one for all - think about it - how many of you have the same PW for your 2+2 account and one or more poker sites? rb |

Re: Account hacked on PS!!
Enough of these BS hacker posts... no sympathy here. Choose passwords that aren't easy to guess and change them often. You won't have a problem... oh, and don't give them to your buddies.

Re: Account hacked on PS!!
Pokerstars doesn't reveal names of hackers to those who hack them. Just ask Greg Raymer.

Re: Account hacked on PS!!
My friend did not give his password out to anyone, nor was it insecure. The PS security team told him his password as secure and it was not because it was such an easy password to guess that they had hacked in.
Also, PS sent us the screen names of the players who hacked in, you can see from the mail above, that is the direct email from the PS security team. If they know the names, why not ban them or use their information to go after them. I understand that the money is more than likely not going to come back, but this should be prevented from happening in the future. It makes me feel a little uneasy knowing that someone was able to hack my friend's account. |

Re: Account hacked on PS!!
This happened to me aswell. It was last year, and Jaconda78 took $148 out of my account. After several phone calls, and a few days worth of exchanging emails with PS, they said it was my fault and there was nothing they could do to get my money back.
Anyways, in order to get the keylogger off of my computer, I ran a search for 'Keylogger' and easily enough I found it. The tricky part was deleting the file becuase whenever I right-click deleted it, it just reappeared two seconds later. I also tried a system retore to a month or two prior, but that did not work. Finally, I ended up rebooting my system in safe mode and it allowed me to delete the file. To this day I run antispyware frequently, as well as run searches for keyloggers. I didn't read this entire thread, so I don't know if my ideas have already been mentioned, but good luck getting it off if you have not already, and I hope they did not take too much money. Luckily I was only robbed $148, but I know you 2+2 guys are known ballers so maybe it was a couple grand for you. Hopefully, PS gets it back for you. - Poker1123 |
