[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I call river, this looks like AJ to the max max max, he raised his top pair IMO, scared of the flush, then bets his jack again on the river, I think I pay this off and see KJ and AJ a lot. [/ QUOTE ] i totally agree here. if we're gonna check the turn here, i think we have to call the river. [/ QUOTE ] If you were going to bet the turn, what would the bet be and why? [/ QUOTE ] i'd make a 1/2 pot bet on the turn with the intention of checking down on the river. 60 is small enough where we gain value from a J and small enough that we have room to fold to a c/r or any more aggression from the villain. Also, less important, betting the turn keeps us in control of the betting and getting pushed off the best hand on the river on this scary board. |

I thought about betting the turn like $50-60, but then I thought if he double c/r me, I'm kinda cooked. Let me see what the river brings. (afterwards, i thought: would he really double c/r me with a flush or set?!?!)
I knew I had to call any decent sized river bet, but wasnt expecting an overbet shove. Looked like a bluff or nuts type hand, I tanked for a while and finally decided to give him credit... Thanks, -Mike |

seems like villain's overbet on river is meant to make us think he's bluffing... most tightish players I've ever seen do this are posing and can beat one pair. Fold is good.
