Note taking
I read the the posting guidelines and I know posting hands are most encouraged, but I still felt this was the best forum to post this in since it applies specifically to SSNL games. I'm new here, so please let me know if I'm wrong
--- This is my note taking system: Synstax: TERM : explanation Anything sourrounded by ( ) is optional, if more than one option then seperated by / Anything sourrounded by [ ] and seperated by / you have to choose one or more. ------------------- CS, UCS : Calling Station, Ultimate Calling Station CLDGSDS : Can't Lay Down Cutshot Draw Syndrom DNB : Do Not Bluff LWw/[WH/SH/D](--DNB) : Leads Weak With Weak Holding/Strong Holding/Draw LSWTP(--DNB) : Leads Strong With TP. NSOP : No Sense Of Position [W/N]3bR(--ABS) : Wide/Narrow 3betting Range, ABS : Against Button Steal F : Floater RCBETw/[air/SH/WH/D] : Raise Continuation Bet With Air/Strong Holding/Weak Holding/Draw minRFw/[air/SH/WH/D]: min Raise Flop With... minRTw/[air/SH/WH/D]: .... Turn .... BR(s/B) : Bluffs River small/Big VBR[s/B] : Value Bets River small/Big NP(C) : Nut Peddler (C added when only nutpeddling) CCw/[AK/KK+,...] : Cold Calls pf with ... [2/3]! : Player capable of double/triple barreling ----------------- *CLDGSDS is more to describe players that will call of their stack on a draw more than just gutshots. * Min-raise is not just min-raises, but basically all abnormally small raises. Example of classical 25-100NL fish: CS, DNB CLDGSDS LWw/WH/D LSWTP NSOP N3bR minRFw/SH/(air/WH/D)? minRTw/SH BR CCw/{wide range} ------- This system was inspired by a post by aba when he was in the well, where he used a lot of acronyms to describe Gus Hanson. It looks a little confusing I'm sure, but it works for me I really think the notes you take tells a lot about how you think about the game, so I would like to know what notes you guys use. Basically, what reads should I make that could help me make better decisions in a later hand. |

Re: Note taking
On a serious note - I usually note the following stuff:
- plays draws aggro or passive - c/r light or nuts only - overbet means? - tiny bet means? - donk bet means? - anything i notice about how he plays the nuts (flat call flop > raise blank turn or whatever) |
