Default age limit changing in Ontario??

I've heard rumors that, as of Jan. 1, 2006, Americans must be 21+ to drink and/or gamble in Ontario. I haven't found any evidence of this online, but this would severely put a damper on my plans to go up to Casino Niagara in March. Does anyone know anything about this? It seems somewhat preposterous that Canada would go through the trouble of imposing seperate age restrictions for Canadians and US citizens.

nevermind. after speaking to a canadian, and calling Casino Niagara, i've determined that this is either false, or an elaborate ploy to trick me to drive the whole way to canada for absolutely no reason.

so yeah, a moderator can delete this thread now

I always found it weird that Americans would let their 19 year old youths drink and smoke (which are killers), and gamble with their life (Army), yet not let them choose to gamble with their money.

Just to be the first one to point this out...the drinking age in the US is 21.

I'm shocked! Hehehe, actually I should've known that. Is it 21 for smoking too?

Don't forget gamble with their future with voting.

18 for purchasing cigarettes, but you can smoke in public at any age as long as someone else buys them for you.

There are some Casinos in the US where 18 year olds can gamble, but a majority are 21.

Except it's illegal to buy cigarettes for a minor. So you can smoke if you got 'em, but you can't get 'em.
