Default Personalized emails in Outlook using HTML

I hope my explanation makes sense...

I need to send a batch of html emails to about 150 individuals using outlook 2003 (there is no way around using outlook). Each email will need to have custom merged elements such as name and a hyperlink that directs individuals to a unique page to register for something. To illustrate, the html for the link would look something like this:

<ahref="http://www.website.com/default.asp?txtUserName=XXXXXX&txtPassword="&g t;Click here!</a>

XXXXXX will be a unique ID number for each individual. Currently, this unique ID number and the other merge fields that need to appear in the emails are in Excel format.

The link people are directed to with the unique ID works flawlessly so this is not a concern. Is there an easy way to take the excel document I have and easily create these emails? Am I crazy for even trying this in outlook?

Much thanks in advance for the help!
